About the role
Patient Safety Learning is a charity and independent voice for improving patient safety. We harness the knowledge, insights, enthusiasm and commitment of health and social care organisations, professionals and patients for system-wide change and the reduction of avoidable harm. We believe patient safety is not just another priority; it is a core purpose of health and social care. Patient safety should not be negotiable.
We are currently supported by our Trustees and a small team of staff. We are seeking to recruit additional Trustees to lead Patient Safety Learning and to model the leadership and just culture approach we are promoting, thereby increasing our impact for our beneficiaries with service and education providers, policy makers and campaigners.
Requirements
We are seeking the following commitment from our Trustees:
- Trustee Leadership of Patient Safety Learning including Board membership and decision making (see guidance from the Charity Commission for further details).
- Support the development of Patient Safety Learning’s vision, mission and values.
- Support the Executive with scrutiny, expert advice and input on the delivery of our strategic aims and annual business plan.
- Attendance at quarterly Board meetings and any appropriate subcommittee meetings
- Support the Patient Safety Learning high-profile meetings and events.
